Film Translation
I think that a good screenwriter, the appropriate book, the right timing and effort put into it make the translation a successful and effective one. Three evaluative criteria that I think are essential for assessing a film translation are 1. Dubbing and Subtitling- modifying and translating the text because you have to put it into ways that people can understand and enjoy the film, 2. Characters and Actors- If you don't have the right actors the way things are said or shown might not be the way you wanted to actually portray them. In certain movies you can leave out a main character from the book, make a minor character a main character or make a main character aminor character, 3. Caring and Respecting the material- If you don't care about what you are doing why do it? If you are just going to throw a movie together because you were hired to, don't do it I would want to make sure you are familiar with the material and the topic before you start making a movie on it.
